The ITL also performs testing for transfusion services, HLA-associated diseases, drug-induced hypersensitivity, vaccine trials, and cellular therapies.

Diagnostic testing and services include:

HLA Typing

  • High resolution HLA typing
  • Intermediate resolution HLA typing

HLA Antibody Testing

  • Antibody identification
  • Panel reactive antibody (PRA)

Crossmatch Testing

  • Flow cytometer crossmatch (FCXM)
  • Virtual Crossmatch (VXM)
  • Endothelial cell crossmatch to detect non-HLA antibodies (EXM)

Chimerism Testing and Engraftment Monitoring

  • Chimerism testing is performed by analyzing short tandem repeats (STR) using an in-house developed and optimized test.

KIR Genotyping

  • To select stem cell donors to improve leukemia control after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation
  • To determine disease association

Disease Association and Drug Hypersensitivity

  • Tested at the optimum resolution.
  • Test comments that are relevant to clinical management are included in the report.
  • Consultation is available for test selection and interpretation of results.

HLA Laboratory Service to Solid Organ Transplant Programs

  • State-of-the-art testing.
  • Fast turn-around-time.
  • Wide array of tests, from pre-transplant to post-transplant monitoring. Virtual crossmatch available 24/7.

HLA Laboratory Service to Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Programs

  • Tests agreement is created to meet the transplant program’s requirements, and reviewed as needed.
  • ITL Laboratory Information System (LIS) can be integrated with program’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for real-time reporting of results.
